So. I'm sure, at some point, you've looked at/heard of/psychically gleaned information about TegakiE, right? Well, if not, you've been living under a rock. For serious. Even I know. Anyway, this whole venture was started by a friend of a friend and I've known about it since fairly early on and it's been cool to see it grow. Especially recently. However, the recent explosion of users means that the little slice of web space it started on can no longer contain the awesomeness. So! Please help out and donate a little. I actually plan on giving something as soon as I see how much Katsucon ends up costing me. Need more incentive? Okay. Donate $20 or more and get a sketch from fongmingyun/Grace. ... Good enough? Good. Because I totally sat and tried to help think of ways to raise money and failed. I might do something myself in the coming weeks, so keep an eye here.

I hope no one's sticking around here for art, because there won't be very much. I've made a sketch blog here called Steam Powered Pencils. There's six sketches up there now, only one of which was posted to dA and only the first post was here. So yeah. If you want to see my WiPs, warm-ups, concepts, and so forth from now on, add the RSS feed and keep an eye on it. I'm sure I'll update at least once a week for a while. I might even post screens from my thesis, 3D work, and character design class. Sound Design and Tech's not yielding anything very interesting so far, so nothing from that class. I'll post here if there's been some kind of massive update or something.

In other news, my tie: nearly done. My blouse: replacing the sleeves (I left no where NEAR enough of an allotment). My skirt: ignoring for the moment, 'cause it should be fairly easy. My Bloomers: patterns. My crazy top thingy: patterned and needing black knit and lots of zippers. And everything need trim. And then I'll be done! Granted, I probably won't finish my prints (sadness!) but I can work on them while there or something. Anyways, still chugging away. Gonna go to South Street for some necessary art rations tomorrow, since I completely forgot today was the Fourth. Yes, I am that dense. More on that after these messages.

So! I've nearly finished my blouse! I've got the zipper pinned on and all the edges ironed down to sew the hems. The tie is pinned... So close to done! So I'm starting another outfit project, this one to wear to the 12012 concert on Friday. The only thing is, I need to buy black knit fabric, more zippers, and some black elastic cord so I can do it. It's gonna be such a fun outfit! But totally visual kei rather than punk lolita. And there's an eye patch involved! Anyways, I'm gonna go back to drafting and pinning and things so all I have to do is sew like there's no tomorrow.

I love your Alice and the Pirates line, I really do. The clothes and accessories have inspired me to design and make some punk pirate lolita clothes of my own because I am not willing to drop that kind of money on some clothes quite yet. I especially love your shoes, since I have yet to skin enough deer out here in the wilds of Suburbia to make a pair of boots. That, and my cobbling skill isn't at the artisan level. Maybe, with time, I can make myself a pair of your boots in my size, as you don't seem to be so accommodating.

So, for MTA's graduation party, I've decided to make a pirate loli outfit. Sounds good, right? Well, I ended up decided that I wanted to wear pants. Because pants are nice things to have. But I couldn't give up my skirt, because I like frilly, deconstructed things. Then I thought about the possibility of it being hot out so I had to account for that. ... Except, I couldn't give up on long sleeves after perusing the items available in Baby, The Stars Shine Bright's Alice and the Pirates line. So I'm going to make them of something super-light weight. And then there's the belt. I gotta figure out how to make a belt. ._.; And get a gigantic skull and crossbones belt buckle on it. And then there's the mini tri-corne hat. Because mini-hats are made of awesome. And, hopefully, I'll have all these micros out and have my mom help me put my hopefully finished dreads in. I'm making about 72-100. Not sure. 72 if I make falls, 100 or more if I install them. Then I have to get ready for doing my OL duty. And find a job. That will hire me. With dreads in red, burgundy, blonde, and my hair colors. ._.;; Dude, why do I do this to myself?! I think I'm just going to spend the day at home and work on fanart rather than rush out and buy fabric and markers. Maybe I'll draft the pattern for my pants while I'm at it...

In short, I don't believe I'll be posting my dandy-fied punk pirate loli outfit to egl, I'm waiting even longer before buying the stuff I need to get ready for ANext, and I am, quite possibly, a complete and utter idiot for doing so.

I so need to do this at some point...

So I've been making up survival horror rules while watching the last, like, half-hour. I totally need to make this into a book, a la The Zombie Survival Guide and the like. But yeah, something I should totally do one day before someone beats me to it.

Right, so I got over my little private spaz-fest yesterday. Honestly, once I factored in the cost of paying for all the supplies and transportation, it wouldn't have been nearly as awesome on the financial front. Personally though, I really did want the opportunity to show someone who might need animation as an outlet how to do it. So I bucked up, looked on craigslist again, and found out a really cool restaurant is opening near campus. If all goes well, I might keep the job during the semester. So hopefully, that'll work out. If not, I'll just keep on trying until something does. It's all I really can do.
In con-going news, I've decided on a possible cosplay, as well as figured out the materials for making my punk lolita outfit. I might (MIGHT) do Misa-Misa from DeathNote. Maybe. I really just need to make a top, style my hair, maybe make a skirt and petti. Need to find a Misa outfit first though. I kind of want to do all my shopping in one or two trips. Especially since I still need red plaid for, err, most of it. You know, if upholstery vinyl doesn't turn out to be nearly as expensive as I thought, I might just do a Xaldin from KH2 cosplay. Then, all I need is the coat. I've got the hair and the goods to make a few extensions. Gonna go through my DNs now and search.

So little has happened! Really! I've made more dreads and finished up all the short ones for velvetjinx's clip-on falls. They shall be my first piece, which is really pleasing. Now, granted, I should be doing fanart to prepare for AnimeNext, but I'm not. Yet. I will eventually just... not right now. I'm really frustrated with every program I have and the damned Axel+Roxas+Demyx piece (which would only be half done if I finish the inks, because I want to add their Nobodies in) and... GAH! But anyways. Last night, I headed over to Kris' for fun and games of the Guitar Hero and DDR sort. Except... I nearly caught the wrong bus, got off the trolley WAY early, and ended up around eight miles from her house. Luckily, there was a car, adorable boy, and diner involved so all was well in the end. Then we were dropped off at Kris', played GH until 3am, and I crashed. Or tried. I totally don't sleep unless it's, like, after 5am anymore. Where was I...? Ah yes! Came home, stopped at a local hair store which turned out to be FUCKIN' HUGE AND FULL OF NATURAL AND UNNATURAL COLORS! So I brought some stuff to make a set of falls for myself. I might go the more traditional, tie-around-a-bun route, seeing as I broke the clip trying to put it over my braids. .:headdesk:. I talked to Jo and randomly mentioned how much I love the hilarity that is Best Week Ever after seeing a CSI parody commercial on VH1. And, umm, it spawned a fandom comm. It's still in the works, mostly waiting for me to code and such not. Other than all that, I've been cooking hair in the sink again and that about it. I did watch Dogma, Scary Movie 3, and Daniel Tosh: Completely Serious. That guy's a bit of an asshole, but funny in that "maybe I shouldn't laugh... wait, what the hell is he talking abo- oh... shit, he took it WAY back" sort of way. Yeah... My neck hurts. Gonna go to bed soon. Yeah...

So! Dreads! Awesome idea for when I go back. Not so awesome right now. Why? Simple: I am so fuckin' compulsive, I'd take out this entire head of very expensive micros, wash my hair, and attempt to install them. It's not too bad right now. I used up the remnants of a really old bag of hair to make twelve super skinny double ended dreads. Six still need sealing though. And they all need a bit of trimming down. Also, might have my first order. Yeah, already. XD It's from my darling Shawna, requesting Tia Dalma/Calypso hair. Which means an insane amount of dreads with wooden beads and shells and such not. <.< She may or may not get it. >.> Depends on my mood and schedule. >.< Anyways, I just may get the Miyavi hair I've been wanting since, like, the beginning of last year. I need a few other colors, like blue, purple, and green, but I'm sure I can do it. It'll be fun! And tomorrow, I shall begin work on my masterpiece! My Storm mohawk! ... Or I might just go out, buy a white wig, dread THAT, and add the hair I've got for volume to get that whole current African queen look. ... But the mohawk's just so much more fun! And the outfit will be fun to buy/make. Here's to hoping I can find a biker jacket!

Interview + Dreads + General Happiness

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Today has been such a good day! My interview for the camp job went well, I think, and I was also offered another job doing an animation for a group that happened to be on the same floor. And I found a place that sell natural, pink, lime green, and white hair! Huzzah! I also got a wig brush and teasing brush (which doesn't work so well) to use as backcombs until I get a real one. I really like the wig brush. It makes backcombing really easy. I also made two (anorexic) dreads! I (unthinkingly) used about the same amount of hair you would use when braiding. I kind of like how they came out though. I could (maybe) live with a head full of those. And they'd make really cool (but probably heavy) falls. Bah, who cares! They look awesome and would look really cool at Nocturne with a good outfit. Also? Need to see about a sewing machine. Because that would totally help in the clothing department. Anyways! Umm... not much else to say... Need to come up with a curriculum for the working stuffs. I think I'm going to come up with a general plan, make some tip/study type sheets, that sort of thing. I also need to price supplies and such not. And see who has what and can use what they've got. Yeah... Time to get to work!

When did life get this amazing? Huzzah! I've even found a jumping off point for whoever I get to be the composer for my thesis! This has been an AWESOME two days! I'm so happy! Also, been uploading stuffs to Veoh for web viewin's. By the end of summer, I might even have a reel to upload! .:squees:. Everything is going so well! Except, well, the fanart. But even that's not going too bad. It might even be manageable. Even if I did just ink in Illustrator again when I didn't have to. >.< Anyways, less than a month until ANext! Time to get really crackin', yo! I'm goin' back to painting and uploading.

Mwuahahahah! I haves a thesis planned and it shall be AWESOME and I shall name it squishy and it shall be MY squishy! But, umm, yeah, I'm jammin' with my thesis now. It's going to be less-than-typical me. No huge backstory. No characters I've made complex histories for. No popular music. If this turns out the way I plan, I'm going to be so happy with it. I even found a way to put my mascot, the Mad Pierrot in it. He's quite mad. Like, crazy as fuck mad. I loves him and his craziness so! Anyways, I shall have sketches and such not as I finish them. Also, go see my final from last semester.
On the fanart front, umm, I fail. I fail at life. Gonna work on that. Now, to bed with me!

Painting looks to semi-realistic. I'm not good enough at color pencil, but I am getting better. Well, I'm supposed to, well, not be typing this and paying attention to other things. Later yo!
